Therefore, the first person to step into a home after the Lunar New Year is often referred to as the "person who opens the house" or "xông đất." This person is seen as the messenger who will unlock the door to wealth and bring good fortune and peace to the family.

For many, the belief in the significance of the first person to step into the house during the New Year is crucial. Selecting the right age for "xông đất" is carefully considered in many families.
