On January 21, the People's Committee of Đồng Nai Province announced the approval of the environmental impact assessment report for the An Viên Trảng Bom Cemetery project. The cemetery, covering an area of 497,054.8m² (nearly 50 hectares), is located in Sông Trầu Commune, Trảng Bom District, and is being developed by An Viên Trảng Bom Joint Stock Company.

The project involves the construction of a district-level centralized cemetery with comprehensive technical infrastructure to meet the local community's burial, cremation, and ash storage needs. It also aims to relocate scattered smaller cemeteries in the area, promoting land conservation and aligning with the local urban planning strategy.

The burial area spans approximately 257,701.12m², accounting for 51.85% of the total project area. It is mainly concentrated at the project's core and is designed to accommodate 43,096 graves.

Within this area, the commercial burial zone covers about 229,210.35m², with 38,578 graves. Additionally, a burial zone designated for the local government measures approximately 28,490.77m², accounting for 11.06% of the total burial area (including 1,628m² of transportation land under the management of the Sông Trầu Commune People's Committee), and can accommodate 4,518 graves.

The project requires converting approximately 7 hectares of rice-growing land to other uses.

Previously, in December 2024, the People's Committee of Đồng Nai Province approved a comprehensive adjustment to the 1:500 detailed construction planning of the An Viên Trảng Bom Cemetery in Sông Trầu Commune, Trảng Bom District. The project has a total investment of nearly 350 billion VND.
